Section 1: How we behave here

A. Plain and simple

Doppeltime is a fresh place for you to have fun and get meaningful information. It’s important to keep it real here though, so please post only your own stuff, be lawful and always be polite to each other. Crazy stuff like posting dirty pictures, harassing people or being a troll is not how we roll, so please avoid it yourself and report it if you see it.

B. A little more detailed

We stand for equality, good sense, kindness, impartiality and openness. We stand against vilification, rudeness, any form of bullying, obscenity and crime. We understand that no matter how hard we try to prevent them, bad things can still happen and we encourage you to help us keep Doppeltime fun and safe by reporting people who do anything we stand against.

People who are reported for crime or advocating it, obscenity, consistent rudeness, bullying, vilification of any kind or other behaviour inconsistent with our values will have their accounts cancelled.

Please only post your own content (or ‘Dops’): pics, videos, text and audio samples must be yours. If you want to post stuff from the internet use the Link feature so you are making it clear that the content is not yours.

Nudes are allowed in sculptures and paintings, but not photos or videos. Pornographic animation will be treated the same as any other kind of porn.

Parents posting pictures of their kids naked or half naked, may unfortunately have those pictures removed. We know how annoying that sounds because there’s nothing more important than your kids, but the world has bad people in it too and if we feel it’s necessary, we will remove those pictures.

We don’t allow corporations to have pages on Doppeltime. We will allow cultural collectives to have pages though, for example a magazine might be allowed to have a presence or a band, but not a purely commercial company. This means we ask you to avoid contacting people for commercial purposes on Doppeltime. We aren’t into it.

Any seriously bad stuff is absolutely forbidden. If you’re a terrorist, a paedophile or a criminal your account will be cancelled and you will be reported to the authorities. If you try and get someone to hurt themselves or post anything racist, your account will be cancelled. Be good or go elsewhere basically. Protecting the Doppeltime community is of the highest importance to us, so where we think it is threatened, we may remove your posts, cancel your account or report you to the relevant authorities in our absolute discretion.

If you humiliate another person for any reason, even someone who has made a mistake, you’re not welcome. We think too many trolls have taken over social apps in general and toxic people will just be abruptly exited from Doppeltime. Just be polite, same as you are on the street or when you’re anywhere in the civilized world for the matter. Nobody gets to be a jerk just because they’re online.

Errors of judgment happen and we will stay cool. Sometimes you will want to share news that’s occurring near you. Please avoid posting stuff that will make others take offence or much more importantly, harm a child if they accidently saw it. We wouldn’t kick you off for making a mistake, but we would remove the photos if they were too much. Please use good judgment and think before you post and where the photos are reasonable in all the circumstances, include a warning that the photos are graphic and may offend or unnerve people.

For more information, see our formal Terms of Use at: https://doppeltime.com/mobile/terms-conditions/

C. Reporting is helpful

There are times when you will see copyright or trademark infringement or abuse or any of the things listed above in section B. Please be so kind as to report it. We will act pretty quickly to investigate it and deal with it accordingly. Without enough detail to help us understand the issue we may however make a mistake in allowing something to remain so please give us every piece of information we need to make a sensible decision.

Section 2: Your content

A. Choosing the audience for your Dops

You can choose an audience when you share or post your own item to Doppeltime. The audience options are:

Always think carefully about the audience for your uploaded content and even where you select a limited audience, we discourage you from uploading anything you would not be comfortable with being made public. Remember: If you don’t make a selection, the default audience is World (public to all users).

B. About privacy on Doppeltime

We take your privacy and our obligations under various Privacy laws very seriously. For information on how we treat your information, see our Privacy Policy at: https://doppeltime.com/mobile/privacy-policy/

Section 3: Abuse and Offensive Content

As we’ve said above, we stand against vilification, rudeness, bullying, obscenity and crime.

A. Help us and report offensive content

We remove posts that do not follow our Terms of Use and these Community Guidelines (e.g. nudity, graphic violence, spam, highly insulting). If you come across content that is offensive please use the flag icon to report the item. The flag icon can be viewed when a Dop tile is opened.

We will then review it as soon as possible and then act accordingly. This is the quickest way for us to remove offensive content or cancel an inappropriate user’s account. You can also report it to us at: complaints@doppeltime.com

Remember though, sometimes we won’t always agree with you and Doppeltime will only remove accounts we think aren’t following our Terms of Use and/or these Community Guidelines. We won’t intervene in personal disputes, unless there has been a breach of our Terms of Use and/or these Community Guidelines.

B. Self restraint

The other side of this issue is showing self-restraint. When posting a Dop or a comment, think about whether it:

If you find yourself saying yes or maybe to any of the above, it’s not worth it. Too many social media platforms have fallen victim to the trolls, let’s keep Doppeltime different.

C. Block Followers

In addition to reporting abusive content, if you receive unwanted, targeted comments on your Doppeltime posts from a follower or other user, we recommend that you block this user. To block a follower go to your Followers list, search for the user and tap the block icon.

D. Escalated abuse and further steps

As much as we are committed to acting on your reports and keeping Doppeltime a safe and enjoyable platform, there may be times where other resources need to be involved.

i. Alert your Parents or Guardian
If you’re a minor (that is, under 18 years old in most places around the world), it’s particularly important that you tell your parent or guardian about any inappropriate contact, threats or other abuse that you receive. Often they will be best placed to help you deal with the situation and get help from appropriate sources.

There’s no need for you to put up with unacceptable abusive behaviour or communications – don’t keep it to yourself.

ii. Emergencies and criminal behaviour
We investigate all reports of criminal behaviour on Doppeltime that we receive and we will always report any criminal behaviour we become aware of, and seek to work with the relevant authorities.

However, sometimes we may not be best placed to understand the full context of a reported matter or may not be able to act fast enough to pass a report on to relevant authorities.

So, if you see any evidence of criminal behaviour or think that there is threat to the safety of you or another user, you must report it immediately to your local law enforcement agencies. They are best placed to help you in those situations.

Section 4: Parents Information Section

A. Basic info

i. What is Doppeltime?
Doppeltime is a content matching and sharing social media service. Doppeltime finds content relevant to users by pushing content from ‘Doppels’ (people who are most similar to the user). A user’s Doppels are based on their matching responses when rating or liking different content (such as movies, TV shows, bands and books). Users can also upload their own content (text, photos, audio recordings and video) and post links to other online content.

Your child must be over 13 years old to use Doppeltime.

ii. Who sees your child’s uploaded content?
Anyone who registers an account with Doppeltime will be able to see their uploaded content with the audience set to “World”. Remember “World” is the default setting if no selection is made.

They can limit the audience to:

We encourage you to discuss with your child about choosing an appropriate audience for their uploaded content. Even where they select a limited audience, we would discourage them from uploading anything they would not be comfortable with being made public.

B. Safety

i. I want a photo of my child removed – what can I do?
Doppeltime will remove any content that breaches our Terms of Use and/or these Community Guidelines. If you see or become aware of a photo that breaches our Terms of Use and/or these Community Guidelines, please report it to us at: complaints@doppeltime.com

However, please be aware that unless it breaches our Terms of Use and/or these Community Guidelines, we may not necessarily take it down.

ii. My child is under 13 years of age – what should I do?
It is a condition of our Terms of Use that all users be over the age of 13. Where your child is younger than 13 and has an account, we encourage you to take steps to close their account and delete it from any of their devices. You can also report the account to us at this address: complaints@doppeltime.com, however, we will ask you to supply evidence of their age and your guardianship before we’ll take steps cancel their account.

If you know or suspect another user is younger than 13, please report it to us at: complaints@doppeltime.com

iii. A picture of my child has been deleted – what happened?
We don’t allow naked or partly naked pictures of any person and especially kids. We understand that such pictures of your children may be entirely innocent, but unfortunately the reality is those photos may be exploited without your knowledge by others with bad intentions. Because of this, our policy is to remove all such photos.

We also need to be clear that Doppeltime is not a backup or storage service provider so please don’t upload photos to Doppeltime without backing them up elsewhere.

iv. How can we report abusive behaviour or offensive material?
We remove posts that do not follow our Terms of Use and/or these Community Guidelines (e.g. nudity, graphic violence, spam, highly insulting).

Remember though, sometimes we won’t always agree with you and Doppeltime will only cancel accounts we think aren’t following our Terms of Use and these Community Guidelines. We won’t intervene in personal disputes unless there has been a breach of our Terms of Use and/or these Community Guidelines.

v. Report a bully or troll
We have zero tolerance for bullies and trolls on Doppeltime. If you or your child experience bullying or troll-like behaviour – we encourage you to report it to us at: complaints@doppeltime.com. We’ll investigate the person and in the meantime, we strongly recommend that you block the person from within Doppeltime.

C. Security

i. How can I help keep my child’s account secure?
Protecting our younger users is our top priority, but some of the best protection will come from you having an open discussion with them about the some of the dangers of social media or online technology in general. We recommend you always teach them to:

We will never contact them asking for your password, so tell them that if they receive such a message, they should report, ignore and delete it immediately We will also never ask them to download an attachment or install any applications from an email that claims to be us.

ii. How do I get access to my child’s account?
If your child is over 13 years old but you do not consent to them using Doppeltime in accordance with our Terms of Use and these Community Guidelines, please arrange for them to cancel their account and delete the application from their devices. You can also report them to us at: complaints@doppeltime.com but bear in mind you will have to supply evidence of their age and your guardianship before we can cancel their account.

We are unable to provide you with the password to their account.

iii. I want to stop my child downloading Doppeltime.
That is a matter between yourself and your child which we respect. You can delete it from their devices and use parental control settings through Apple’s iTunes program and on your iPhone or iPad or through the Google Play Store to prevent future downloads.
